There are many motorcycles in the 150-160cc range in the Indian market, but only a few of them sell well every month. The best 150-160cc bike segment is dominated by the Pulsar 150, Yamaha FZ FI, TVS Apache 160 and Yamaha R15, but there is one bike that is ahead of all these bikes.

Honda Unicorn is the king of the 160s
We are talking about the Honda Unicorn, which has the highest sales in the 150-160cc segment. Honda sells 28,000 to 30,000 units of the Unicorn every month. No other 160cc bike sells as well in the Indian market. Speaking of the Pulsar 150 market, its average sales per month is only 12,000 units.

At the same time, sales of the popular TVS Apache 160 series bikes are around 25,000 units. When comparing Yamaha bikes, the average monthly sales of Yamaha FZ FI are around 8,000 units and R15 around 7,000 units.

Why is it selling so much?
In fact, with the Honda Unicorn, customers get the benefit of price along with power and performance. It’s the most affordable 160cc bike and it’s also very stylish in terms of design and looks. The bike is a bit long which makes it look muscular even on the road. The ex-showroom, Delhi price of Honda Unicorn BS-VI is Rs 1,05,718. The company only sells it in one variant.

engine is strong
The biggest feature of the Honda Unicorn is its engine, which produces less vibration even at high revs. This results in a very smooth driving experience. The company has given it an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 162.7cc BS-6 engine that delivers 12hp at 7500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 5500rpm.

All of the Unicorn’s electronic features are kept very simple. It has a halogen headlight, LED taillight, auto starter, engine stop switch, analogue instrument cluster, single disc brake and monoshock rear suspension.
