New Delhi. The first month of the 2024 financial year (April 2023 – March 2024) went very well for the two-wheeler segment. The motorcycles and scooters featured in the top 10 list saw annual sales growth of 23.79 percent. Sales of the top 10 two-wheelers last month, i.e. in April 2023, amounted to 10,25,782 units and in April 2022 it was 8,28,643 units.
The Hero Splendor may have been one of the top-selling bikes, but there’s another bike that’s done exceptionally well in terms of sales. Bajaj Pulsar captured third place and saw spectacular growth. No other bike has seen more growth in the top 5 best-selling two-wheelers than the Bajaj Pulsar. That said, this bike was #1 in terms of growth.
Magic of Assets
In April 2023, Hero Splendor and Honda Activa once again dominated two-wheeler sales with Bajaj Pulsar. In April 2023, Splendor sales increased to 2,65,225 units, a growth of 13.30 percent. Splendor’s market share was 25.86 percent. Honda’s popular scooter Activa remained in second place in April 2023. Activa recorded sales of 2,46,357 units with growth of 50.60 percent. Activa currently holds 23.98 percent of the shares in this list. The company is now preparing to launch the Activa electric scooter next year. Activa Electric will compete in the Indian market with TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak scooters.
Bajaj Pulsar in 3rd place
Third place went to Bajaj’s Pulsar bike, sales of which rose 150.59 percent to 1,15,371 units in April 2023. NS160, NS200 and 220 made a huge contribution to Pulsar sales. After that, there is Honda CB Shine at number 4 and Hero HF Deluxe at number 5. In April, the growth of Honda CB Shine, whose sales were 89,261 units, declined, and sales of HF Deluxe also declined by 21.77 percent.
