The ‘Desi’ cruiser bike will end Royal Enfield’s ‘kingdom’ – the Indian company has made preparations

New Delhi. The medium-duty bicycle segment (250 to 800 cc) is showing strong growth in the Indian two-wheeler market. According to SIAM, 7,54,153 units were sold in FY22 compared to 733,779 units in FY21. Royal Enfield currently dominates the segment at both national and global levels. Two-wheeler manufacturers such as Bajaj Auto, Triumph, BMW, Kawasaki, TVS and Suzuki Motorcycle India are major players in this segment.

To further expand its product portfolio, TVS Motor Company will introduce a new medium-duty cruiser designed to challenge the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 or the Super Meteor 650. Though TVS hasn’t revealed any details on its upcoming cruiser bike, its design patent has been leaked.
