New Delhi. With the arrival of the monsoon, the period of heavy rains that began across the country does not stop. Flood-like situations are occurring in many areas. But everyday work cannot be stopped in this sunny weather. In such a situation, a person has to leave home to go to his office or to the store. But wet roads and potholes are becoming a big problem. Not only is it dangerous, especially for motorcyclists, but it also causes major damage to the motorcycle.

It often happens that the motorcycle stops in the middle of the water on the road and then does not start. If you want to avoid such troubles, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. Come and let us explain how you can easily get the motorbike out in the middle of the water on the road without stopping, and it will not damage the bike either.

  • Never race the motorcycle on wet roads too often. Run it at a speed.
  • After immersion in water, do not change gears frequently and only ride in first or second gear. Avoid using the clutch. Because when you step on the clutch, water can get into the engine through the muffler. Because the bike’s muffler is very small and faces down, it can suck in water.
  • When the water level is high, never take a bike with you and climb in. The engine of the motorcycle is open and stands very low. In such a situation, damage to the cylinder head can occur if water gets on the hot engine. When water reaches the air filter, it also gets to the engine at the same time and the bike stops.
  • After crossing the water, park the motorcycle on an elevated spot with the front wheel up and leave the start for a while.

When the bike stops…
If your bike gets stuck in the water, do not try to start it. Take it out of the water and place it on a raised spot with the front wheel up. Open the bike’s air filter and check if there is water there. If water is present, remove the air filter and allow the area to dry. Then try to start the bike once. If it starts easily, let it run for a while and then buy a new air filter.

If the bike won’t start, don’t try to start it over and over again. This can damage the engine head, pistons, rings and crank. Take the motorcycle to a workshop immediately and have it repaired.
