Maruti wins again
Maruti Suzuki India sent 1,37,320 cars to dealers. In April a year ago it was 1,21,995 units. On the other hand, Hyundai Motors delivered 49,701 units to dealers in April, up from 44,001 units a year earlier.

Two-wheeler sales up 15%
According to SIAM, wholesale sales of two-wheelers increased by 15 percent to 13,38,588 units in April 2022, compared to 11,62,582 units in the previous year. At the same time, wholesale sales of tricycles increased to 42,885 units.

Vinod Agarwal, President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said good monsoon rains, among other things, could help sustain the sector’s growth going forward. SIAM Director-General Rajesh Menon said sales of passenger cars last month were the highest ever recorded in April of any year.
