Honda on Wednesday said it would launch two different electric two-wheelers with swappable batteries in India in the next fiscal year. The two-wheeler manufacturer also announced that it would launch mid-range electric two-wheelers. However, the car company did not reveal in what form the upcoming EV scooter or motorcycle will come. The Japanese automaker added it aims to produce 10 electric two-wheelers every year by 2030.

The company will also set up charging points at various locations.
HMSI said it will manufacture two electric vehicles for the Indian market at its Narsapura plant in Karnataka. Apart from the Indian market, the car company also plans to export these electric vehicles to global markets. In addition to introducing electric two-wheelers, the company plans to build 6,000 charging stations across the country to make it easier for EV owners to charge their batteries.

Honda has also not revealed what the next two electric two-wheelers will be. One of these could be a fully electric scooter based on the popular Activa range, while the other could be the Honda EM1e unveiled at EICMA. Can give a range of 40km on a single charge. The EM1e has a removable battery.

Honda says it is working on another platform for its electric two-wheelers, dubbed the Crested Platform E. This architecture is used for a range of electric two-wheelers with both fixed and removable battery technology. Apart from that, the Narsapura plant will be a separate electric vehicle manufacturing facility.
