How to grow cardamom in the courtyard of the house
There are two ways to grow cardamom at home. The first is that you can grow a new plant by using the cardamom plant offset or you can also grow it through seeds.

  • For this you first need high-quality seeds, because their germination depends on the quality of the seeds. Usually the seeds hatch within 4 to 6 days. Mist the plant with water every morning and evening as it sprouts. The plant develops well in about a month.
  • The type of soil is very important for growing cardamom. Mix red and black soil in the pot or on the soil around the house. If red soil is not available, cow manure and coco peat can be used. In addition, you can mix organic fertilizers such as cow manure and compost into regular soil.
  • The best time to sow cardamom seeds is during the summer months. The ideal time for sowing cardamom seeds in India is between March and June. This is the right time for cardamom seed germination. When sowing cardamom seeds, choose a spot with better drainage and plenty of sunlight.

How to sow cardamom seeds

To grow cardamom, buy seeds from the market or nursery, then soak them in a spoonful of water. Then sow the seeds by sprinkling water on a mixed red and black soil in the pot or on the soil in the house. Mix some soil and coco peat over it, then sprinkle water over it. After seed germination, the plant begins to germinate and develops well within a month.

If the plant is in a pot, put it in the sun for 2 to 3 hours a day or sow it in a place where the plants get sunlight every day. Please note that it takes 3 to 4 years to reach the yield. After that, this plant starts to produce cardamom.
