New Delhi. Hero MotoCorp, TVS and Bajaj are the only mainstream two wheeler brands selling electric scooters in the Indian market. Honda has confirmed it will launch two new electric scooters in 2024, while Yamaha is also preparing an e-scooter for the Indian market. Suzuki is also testing the Burgman electric scooter on the Indian roads. Now the Suzuki Burgman electric scooter has been officially unveiled along with its specifications.
The spy images have revealed that the Burgman e-scooter comes with a specific variant of the battery pack. However, the production e-Bergman comes with a removable battery. Suzuki hasn’t disclosed the capacity of the removable lithium-ion battery; However, the Burgman is said to offer a range of 44 km at a constant speed of 60 km/h on level ground. While range seems quite short compared to rivals, the final model is expected to offer much more range.

replaceable battery pack
The Suzuki Burgman e-scooter has a removable battery, and the battery can be swapped and charged at Honda Mobile Power Pack E swap stations. Honda has previously announced that its second electric vehicle for India will feature a swappable battery pack. The Japanese two-wheeler will set up several battery replacement stations across the country. The official publication claims that the maximum power of the e-Bergman is 4 kW, which is similar to the performance of the TVS iQube S and Bajaj Chetak. The electric scooter will be a practical offering in place of more powerful models like the OLA S1 Pro and the Ather 450X.

The electric scooter weighs 147 kg, making it the heaviest in the segment. In fact, it’s 36kg and 28kg heavier than the Burgman Street EX and iQube S respectively. The seat height of the scooter is 780mm, the same as the standard petrol Burgman. Suzuki is currently testing 8 units of the Bergmann electric scooter in the Jonan area of Tokyo. This new experiment will start in April and run until June 2023.
