The maximum penalty for not having a pollutant certificate is 10,000 rupees. It only costs 20 to 200 rupees to get a pollution certificate. To open a pollution testing center, you must apply for a license from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). After that, you must also have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the local authority. The Pollution Testing Center charges different fees in each state. In Delhi-NCR, the application fee is 5,000 rupees as security money and 5,000 rupees as license fee. According to the rules, the Pollution Testing Center must open it in a booth colored yellow. The yellow booth is the identification mark of the Pollution Detection Center. In addition, it is mandatory to indicate the license number in the middle.
