New Delhi. Harley-Davidson launched its most affordable Harley Davidson X440 bike in India on Monday. It was launched in India at a price of 2.29 lakh rupees (ex showroom). This is the first bike developed jointly by Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp in India. Hero MotoCorp Chairman Pawan Munjal himself attended the launch event of this motorcycle in Jaipur.
It is informed that this bike will be manufactured at Hero’s manufacturing facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan. The company has launched the X440 in three variants – Denim, Vivid and S, priced at Rs. 2.29 lakh, Rs. 2.49 lakh and Rs. 2.69 lakh respectively (showroom-ex). Harley-Davidson said the main goal of launching the X440 is to bring stability to the company in India. This bike will compete with bikes like Royal Enfield Classic 350, Meteor 350 and Yezdi Roadster.
great design
The company has given this bike a modern retro cruiser look. All lighting was installed in LEDs. In addition to the LED headlights in the bike, LED daytime running lights and LED indicators are also available. This motorcycle features a single instrument cluster, LCD display and retro style fuel tank. The 440cc bike rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels and upside-down telescopic front fork suspension. All-terrain tires were used in the bike for better handling.
E20 follower engine
In the Harley Davidson X440, the company installed an E20 fuel engine. It is powered by an oil-cooled 440cc BS6 engine that produces best-in-class power with 27hp and 38Nm of torque. According to the company, this engine is a long-stroke engine that produces 90 percent torque at 2,000 rpm. This means that this bike puts out more torque even at low revs, making this bike fun to ride even at low speeds.
To improve braking, the company gave this bike a 320mm front disc brake. This bike is equipped with two-channel ABS. Hero MotoCorp will retail and distribute the Harley-Davidson X440 in India. Harley-Davidson currently has 14 dealerships in India. In the coming period, the company may expand car dealerships in every city in India.
