Farmer Gopal Patel has been growing marigolds for five years. As every year, he is expected to earn lakhs this year. The experienced farmer loves flowers so much that he has turned it into a business. Not only does he take care of the flowering plants, but he also critiques and weeds them himself, benefiting several hundreds of thousands of them.
Horticultural crops bring more profit
According to the farmer, growing flowers requires more water than traditional farming, but when the yield is good, the profit also amounts to several million euros. Gopal Patel told that his two-hectare farm is currently teeming with the scent of marigolds and calendula flowers, horticultural crops bring more profit than other crops. On the other hand, if a good price is available in the markets in good time, the amount spent on the harvest will be recouped at once.
There is also great demand in the markets
After growing flowers, the yields of the second crop become Profits. By the way, compared to other flowers, marigolds are very cheap. At present, marigold flowers are sold at a price of 40 rupees per kg in the market, but when the cultivation is good, hundreds of quintals of flowers are produced and there is a great demand in the market.
