electric scooter: Electric two-wheeler startup River Electric has launched a new scooter scooter in the country. The starting price of the new River Indie electric scooter is Rs 1.25 lakh. The greatest feature of the scooter is that its design is different from all electric scooters available in the market. The scooter is in the news due to its new design and look. The company has announced that booking for the scooter has started. The River indie scooter segment will rock and by 2025 its 1 lakh units will be sold.
Interestingly, the 770mm seat height and 14-inch wheels make the scooter similar to the Yamaha Aerox and Aprilia SR160. It has a gradeability of 18 degrees, which is higher than the Ola S1 Pro. This allows the scooter to be driven at an incline of 5 degrees. The EV startup claims the River Indy will offer 43 liters of under-seat trunk space, as well as a 12-liter glove box. It also has rack mounts and bag hooks on both sides. The scooter also gets features like park assist and two USB ports.

The River Indy electric scooter is powered by an IP67 certified 4kWh battery and a 6.7kWh electric motor. Battery and motor generate a torque of 26 Nm. The scooter is driven to the rear wheel via a belt drive. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Apart from that, the maximum speed of the scooter is 90 km/h. The scooter can travel up to 120km on a single charge. The scooter comes with a 5 year or 50,000km warranty.

Why is the design different?
Speaking of the design of the new electric scooter, the front view is very different from other electric scooters in the Indian market. Two LED headlights with LED daytime running lights can be seen at the front of the scooter. The scooter also gets a 6-inch digital color instrument cluster, a large 20-inch footboard and LED taillights. It also gets 14-inch black alloy wheels with beefy tires. The front wheel gets a 240mm disc brake, while the rear wheel gets a 200mm disc brake. The scooter is telescopic at the front and equipped with a double hydraulic system suspension at the rear.
