New Delhi. If you are also an electric vehicle owner, the UP government will give you a great gift. The government takes another step forward in its campaign to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles and on Wednesday launched the Electric Vehicle Promotion Portal. Customers who buy electric vehicles after October 14, 2022 can now get grants through this portal, which started under the name upevsubsidy.in. The government has simplified the process to allow the grant to benefit the customer directly and it will only be deposited into your account online after a 4-step verification.
The benefit of this government subsidy is granted under the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022. This benefit can be claimed for electric vehicles purchased between October 14, 2022 and October 13, 2023.

What will the 4-step verification be?
- In the first step, information about the purchase of an electric vehicle is provided by the dealer. For example which vehicle was picked up on what date, how much it cost, battery size, when it was manufactured etc.
- After that, you need to fill in the full information to register the vehicle.
- The third step is the department-related verification, in which the online verification of the information you provide takes place.
- In the fourth step, the report is submitted to the government after a final review by TI.
Will benefit from performance in just three days
The biggest advantage of this portal is that the customer does not have to wait for the subsidy amount. After the verification work is completed, the funding amount is transferred online to the customer’s bank account within just three working days.
how much subsidy to whom
- The government will provide a grant of Rs.5,000 for the first 2000,000 two-wheelers falling under the purchase date set by the government.
- Likewise, the government will provide a subsidy of up to 1 lakh rupees for the first 25,000 electric quadricycles.
- At the same time, the first 400 private electric buses will receive a grant of up to 20 lakh rupees.
- A subsidy of up to 1 lakh rupees will be given for 1000 loading vehicles.
- The subsidy is only up to 15 percent of the production costs of the vehicles.
